Nikon D3300 Digital SLR Camera Review

How would you feel to have a digital camera that does not cost the moon and can deliver real high-quality pictures?

If you have been shooting with point and shoot cameras all your life, then a DSLR can be a transforming experience.

If you want to take up photography as a hobby and don’t want to break the bank, then a high-quality entry level DSLR is the way to go.

The Nikon D3300 ticks all the boxes above and is one of the best DSLR cameras below 30000 rupees in India.

Design and Build

    The Good

  1. The Nikon D3300 is smaller than most SLRs and weighs only 410 grams making it easier to carry.
  1. Despite it being lightweight, it is designed and built well. Be assured that this DSLR is durable and will last long.
  1. It feels comfortable in the hand and is easy to grip.
  1. The viewfinder of the D3300 offers 95% coverage alongwith a 0.85x magnification which is better than its predecessors.

    The Not So Good

  1. The LCD screen at the back of the camera is good but in sunlight it is not easily visible.
  1. The LCD display is also fixed and cannot be flipped or rotated. So, clicking at awkward angles and selfies is ruled out.

As light conditions reduce, noise (graininess) increases.

  1. Like the still images, video quality is great in moderate and good light conditions.
  1. Smooth motion noticed when filming moving objects.

    The Not So Good

  1. In low lit conditions, there is a some amount of noise is visible which increases as lighting conditions reduce.
  1. Recording upto only 10 minutes in one go available as compared to 20-30 minutes in other cameras.

Agility and Speed

    The Good

  1. The Nikon D3300 is undoubtedly a fast camera. It has a good autofocus which makes it very responsive thereby enabling quick snaps.
  1. It can actually shoot 5 frames a second as claimed on its specs. This makes continuous shooting a breeze and pleasant experience.

    The Not So Good

  1. Slow in live view mode.

Battery Life

Battery life is great. The Nikon D3300 can survive 700 shots as compared to the average of 400-500 shots from other cameras.

Thanks to this, the D3300 can be used for a long day of shooting without you having to worry about the battery.

Conclusion

Nikon made the D3300 with an aim which is…
